Fusion Pack v058
_____________________________________
Fusion Pack is built on top of Ultrapack, which in turn is built on HSFX.
_______________________________________________________________
ULTRAPACK 2.01 AUTOMATIC CHECK/UPDATE TOOL and HSFX/UP SWITCHER
_______________________________________________________________
FP includes the very awesome UP2.01 (great job Hades & UP Team), and UP2.01 came with a couple of tools that make life easy for Joe User, namely the automatic check/repair tool and the UP Switcher.
Now, those tools are great but they are not designed for Fusion Pack.
I havent tested how it works with Fusion Pack and I won't do that either, but I am including them into the package because FP is supposed to *add* more features to UP, not to remove any of them.
As the tools in question are designed for UP without taking into consideration the additional mods that come with FP, commons sense suggests that it is good policy to *ALWAYS* *DISABLE* FUSION PACK BEFORE USING UPSwitcher or UPupdate (Rename MODS folder to -mods).

* Mods included in the FP are installed in the MODS folder so you can easily switch back to the 'base' Ultr@pack2.01 disabling teh whole MODS folder (rename to -MODS)

____________________________________
CUSTOM QMBpro Setup
____________________________________
All the maps contained in FP including stock maps and the ones that came with UP, are available in QMBpro with at least one scenario per side (blue/red).
The default QMB setup that came with Ultrapack is also provided (look in the Quicks folder)
Thanks Smilinjack for this awesome work.

Reworked Static.ini
____________________________________
The Static.ini file that came with Ultrapack isnt really perfect, there are some double entries, but simply replacing it would lead to compatibility problems on crt=2 servers, so the reworked version has been stored in the MODS\STD folder (disable the whole MODS folder to join Ultrapack servers that run crt=2)
Thanks FoxBat for the work on Static.ini

Extra Objects
____________________________________
A few new ships, some repainted ships, and a whole bunch of new Southern European houses by UUfflakke (aka Lejo), very useful for Mediterranean missions
____________________________________
Dark Skies
____________________________________
The Dark Skies Mod by Checkyersix makes night missions look way more realistic . It has been included in FP with the addition of a desktop shortcut that you can use to easily toggle "night mission mode" on and off by enabling or disabling the Dark Skies mod: click on the Toogle-Dark-Skies icon and follow the easy instructions to enable or disable Dark Skies.

Fusion SOUNDS
____________________________________
New edition (v.6) based on Jiver's 'Total Sound Mod' with some modifications. Jiver's sounds are great when it comes to engines and 'most' guns, but some guns sounded like sewing machines and explosions were completely inaudible, as were most effects. In the 'fusionized' version the explosion and effects are back, the dive sound have been tweaked for each plane: instead of kicking in always at the same speed for all planes as it does in Jiver's sounds, the 'screaming dive' effect is now triggered at different speed for different planes.
Where possible, dive sounds have been added to jets and rocket-powered planes too.
Also, screech sound on touchdown and squeeeek sound when braking were missing in Jiver's sound are now back.

Effects
_______________________________

- Mega Effects v.3 (a compilation of many nice effects from many modders, based on the Uranium Effects by HolyGrail and Potenz, now with some elements from Plutonium effects too)
- Ultralite effects (for users on low end machines. Looks fairly good with little or no impact on performance)
- Andrey clouds, reworked by Bee
____________________________
JSGME Upgrade
____________________________
Some of the JSGME mods have been renamed in an attempt to make order in the mess of mods just 'thrown' there. They are now grouped (roughly) by categories using ags such as effects, interface, etc.
- Minimap mod in 2 versions: with map frame visible and invisible
- Effects_Ultralite (see Effects section)
- Effects Mega (see Effects section)
- Immersion Hud log in 2 versions: medium and full (removes many unnecessary on-screen messages but keeps some)
- Interface fun (less boring interface text)
- OLC water (water=0 looks kinda like water=3... on some systems)
- Cert. AI available as standalone too (as well as a part of Zuti MDS)
- Option to turn off Cert.AI on Zuti MDS
- CloudFPS in 2 versions: original OLC and reworked ZloyPetruko (buys some extra fs in cloudy skies. Different versions work best on different systems)
- CarrierMod-Disable(up) adds the ability to turn OFF the carrier spawn mod in UP (for some reason Hades made that always enabled)
- Atmosphere mod v4.0 (seems to be the best version so far. All other versions including 4.1 are in the optionals folder)
- 4GB exe (for 64bit OS's) in both regular and 6DoF versions (allows the game to use more RAM, gaining in performance)
- x_Josse_Ammo-belt
- x_Breda-guns (slighty higher RoF and penetration for Italian 12.7mm Breads)
- x_G-Suit (pilots black out later, to simulate G-suits)
- X_Supersonic (allows flying faster than 1200kph indicated without blowing up)
- X_RRgunsights (radar ranging gunsights for F86 and P80)
- X_WeaponControls (allows dropping bombs and rockets one at a time) new version with integrated BombBay mod to avoid conflicts
NOTE: a warning in the mouseover info informs users that the x tagged options are considered "cheats" and shouldnt be used on line without permission.
* Some of the original UP2.0 JSGME options have been renamed, and others have been moved to the EXTRAS folder to avoid making the JSGME folder too messy. You can still reinstall any of the UP items that have been moved, just copy and paste (instructions included, see EXTRAS folder, under MORE-JSGME)

New Start menu items can be added during install, with links to the following:
- Gapa (doesnt do anything that you cant do with stock software... but it has profiles)
- IL2 compare (with (some) new slot planes data already installed)
- Stab 6.3 (nice configuration tool. I use it mostly for the icons settings, I like them *very* limited)
- Joy COntrol (real good hotas sensitivity configuration tool for IL2)
- Mission Mate 6 with support for 4.09m
- Hardball Aircraft viewer 4.09 (great for building missions but it only has stock planes... and not even all of them. But it is still useful)
- Voice Overlay (I use TS Overlay, but this alternative has one important feature: works with Vista, right out of the box, no tweaking involved)
- JSGME-optionals: additional JSGME options ready to install, just copy and paste into the JSGME-MODS folder
- EnjoyR additional JSGME Items (a whole lot of items, all packed for copy/paste install into the JSGME-MODS folder, where they will easy to recognize by the zNJR_ tag)
- ZutiMDS all versions (the name says it all)
- Fraps registered version. (no time limits, no fraps website url on your videos).
- Documentation <= A lot of that.

NOTE 1: Joining crt=2 games
######################################################################
__________________________________________
FP ONLINE
__________________________________________
Fusion pack is compatible with Ultrapack and HSFX.
That means, if a server runs HSFX or Ultrapack, you can join it with Fusio Pack and you won't have any problems with missing maps or invisible planes. As long as they run crt=0 you'll be able to play on most servers: stock 4.09, HSFX, Ultr@pack, and of course Fusion pack.
However, if the server runs crt=2* you need to configure your game to match the server. A 'vanilla' 4.09 server with crt=2 will accept only 'vanilla' (unmodded) 4.098 clients, an HSFX server with crt=2 will only accept HSFX clients, and so forth.
Fusion pack is basically an Ultrapack with a bunch of mods added in the mods folder. Disable the MODS folder and you're back on Ultr@pack 2.01.
UP has the ability to switch back and forth between 'full featured' UP and an HSFX-only edition. You can disable all mods and run the stock game, too.
So, let's see how to use these features to join crt=2 games:
As we were saying, a crt=2 server will only accept clients that run the exact same game (unmodded/modded/different mods setups), so let's see what are the most common setups and how you configure your game to join them
But first, let me rant just a little but more. Quick. Promised.
IMO you shouldnt join crt=2 games, because running crt=2 means 'you are considered a cheater unless you prove otherwise', and I find that extremely offensive. OK, im done. Let's see how to join.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A T T E N T I O N
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SOMETIMES, CRT=2 SERVERS REFUSE TO LET YOU IN EVEN THOUGH YOU ARE RUNNING THE EXACT CONFIGURATION THAT THEY WANT YOU TO RUN.
IF THAT HAPPENS, REBOOT YOUR COMPUTER AND TRY AGAIN.
The trick here is NOT to run IL-2 with a different configuration before trying to join the crt=2 server.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
_____________________________________________
JOINING CRT=2 GAMES
WHERE THE SERVER RUNS STOCK (unmodded) 4.09m
_____________________________________________
- Use JSGME to enable the option "stock 409 (all mods off)" [See file: @JSGME_Quickstart.txt]
_____________________________________________
JOINING CRT=2 GAMES
WHERE THE SERVER RUNS Ultr@pack 2.01
_____________________________________________
- Disable the MODS folder (rename the MODS folder to -MODS)
NOTE: If you have followed the instructions but you still get 'timeout 1', you need to disable (or enable) some JSGME option. (Check the game info)
_____________________________________________
JOINING CRT=2 GAMES
WHERE THE SERVER RUNS HSFX 4.1
_____________________________________________
- Disable the MODS folder (rename it to -MODS)
- Double-click on UPSwitcher.exe to start the Automatic Switcher
- Click the button marked 'enable HSFX' (remember to re-enable UP when you're done with HSFX)
NOTE: If you have followed the instructions but you still get'timeout 1', you need to disable (or enable) some JSGME option. (Check the game info)
NOTE: You must disable the MODS folder *first*, and then use the UP Switcher.
___________________________________________________________
JOINING THE SERVERS 'SPITS VS 109' AND 'ZEKES VS WIDLCATS'
___________________________________________________________
- Disable the MODS folder
- Use JSGME to enable the option "Warbirds of Prey"
NOTE: If you have followed the instructions but you still get'Timeout 1' or 'Timeout 0', you need to disable (or enable) some JSGME option. (Check the game info)
NOTE: You must disable the MODS folder *first*, and then enable "Warbirds Of Prey" in JSGME
NOTE 2: Using Ultrapack Tools on a Fusion Pack modded game
UP UPDATE/RESTORE TOOL
______________________________
Well, I would suggest you don't use this tool at all.
It can be used without breaking anything but it takes some 'planning', and having to plan our actions and follow a checklist is exactly what the user is supposed to skip. I mean 'just click and run' is the whole purpose with the UP check/restore utility, but you cant do that in FP so better not use the UP restore tool...
But anyway, let's see how you *could* use the UP update *if* you wanted to do that despite my advice (maybe in case of *real*bad* screwup, after trying everything, and only as a last resort before giving up and going for a reinstall)
- First off, BACK UP these 2 guys:
File: Files\gui\background.tga
Folder: Files\i18n
Copy them somewhere else, and restore them after running the updating tool
Next thing to do is to disable the Fusion Pack:
- RENAME MODS FOLDER TO FP-MODS
In fact, you may rename it to George if you so wish. Just remember to rename it back to MODS (or Mods, or mods) when you're done with the update.
- RENAME JSGMEMODS to FP-JSGMEMODS
The updater may decide that the FP-renamed folders in the JSGMEMODS directory are 'corrupted' and install the whole UP original JSGMEMODS folder *right into* the FP version, making a mess. So we rename JSGMEMODS to FP-JSGMEMODS (or George), and restore it after the update.
PAQ (Probably Asked Question): sure, but so you dont install any JSGMEMODS updates. what if you need just that?!?
Answer: copy the files from the upgrade installed by the updater. Or use a standalone edition. Or ask on the FP forums.
- Run the UP update/restore tool
- Restore the Background.tga file and the i18n folder from the backup that you took.
- Delete (or move out of the way) any MODS, -MODS, and JSGMEMODS folders (you have renamed your original MODS and JSGMEMODS adding FP- to the names, remember?)
- Restore your original MODS and JSGMEMODS folder (remove the FP- from the names)
- Done.
_____________________
UP Switcher
_____________________
You only need to use the UP Switcher to join HSFX games with crt=2.
If the server has crt=0 you can join with UP and FP enabled, but for joining crt=2 servers that run HSFX4.1 you need to disable FP and use the switcher.
Switch to HSFX
Game but be NOT running:
1 - Disable FP (Rename MODS folder to -MODS)
2 - Start the UP switcher and click on 'enable HSFX'
Switch back to UP:
1 - Stop game
2 - use switcher
and finally re-enable FP (rename -MODS back to MODS)
